Claims process – Motor Boat insurance

What to do if you need to make a claim:

At the scene:

  1. Take the names and addresses of other parties involved together with witnesses
  2. Take photographs if you can
  3. Make no admissions of liability
  4. As soon as possible, report the incident to us; there are a number of ways you can do this:

  • Complete the relevant claim form

If completing a claim form, please ensure that the following information is included:

  1. Full details of the incident
  2. Police and crime number for all losses involving theft / vandalism
  3. Obtain a written estimate for repairs or speak to us about recommending a repairer.

If the craft is in storage pending repairs, be aware of storage charges. Your insurers will pay only reasonable costs.

It may be necessary for us to appoint a specialist surveyor, in which case the costs will be met by your insurer.

In certain circumstances we may be able to make a settlement of the claim without referring to your insurer. In which case we will be acting on behalf of the insurer.
