Boat thieves strike at activity centre

Even if you have taken the precaution of buying boat
insurance it's still never nice to have your prized possessions
stolen.
Unfortunately for an activity centre in Marlow thieves struck
not once but twice over the Christmas period. They took thousands
of pounds worth of parts from eight boats belonging to Sir William
Borlase's Grammar School and the Longridge activity centre.
The incident, which occurred on either Christmas Day or Boxing
Day, came just days after £12,000 worth of riggers were stolen from
the Quarry Road site.
Two-thirds of the boats at the centre have now been damaged,
with many likely to be written-off as a result.
Centre director Amanda Foister said: "It's so frustrating and we
have got to improve security now. It hurts for this to happen twice
so close together. Each boat has a different rigger so you cannot
just go down to the shop and buy one."
