Water pumped from Royal Yacht Britannia

Boat insurance policies are available to cover all
shapes and sizes of vessel in the event of unforeseen
circumstances, but now it seems the Royal Yacht Britannia has run
into some trouble.
The vessel was in the process of being moved for essential
maintenance work when it started listing on its starboard side. The
fire service was called to the tourist attraction to pump water
from it in an effort to stabilise the situation.
The yacht's hull was due to be given a lick of paint, but the
work was halted when the noticeable list was spotted.
Initial indications now suggest the yacht may have had a leak in
a door seal. Just to be safe preparations were made to transport
the ship across the harbour to a dry dock in Leith.
The Royal Yacht Britannia has been moored in Edinburgh since
1997. It is permanently stationed there as an exhibition ship.
