Dinghy insurance FAQs
-
Am I covered for racing?
-
Yes, if you opt for our Gold cover you will be covered for racing at club events, Open Meetings and National, European and World Championship events. If you choose Silver, you'll be covered for racing at club level.
-
Is there a deduction if the mast is broken?
-
We will only deduct the policy excess. In the event of the mast being broken, then we would look to settle the full cost of the replacement mast - less the policy excess.
-
Can I leave my boat at the club?
-
Our policy covers your boat whilst left at the club, providing arrangements have been made to secure it. Any equipment that can be removed, such as sails and rudders, should be kept in secure storage. If the trailer is secured with an approved wheel clamp or ball hitch then cover is extended to this whilst the boat is stored at the sailing club.
-
What additional involvement do you have within the sport?
-
We are active within the sailing community supporting various class associations involved in national Championships.
-
I only use my dinghy at my sailing club and I don't race. What cover is best for me?
-
If you don't race at all we suggest that our Bronze cover would be most suitable for you as it provides cover for your dinghy without cover for racing events. It's a lower level of cover at a lower premium.
-
I would like to purchase the additional legal expenses cover for £5. How do I do this?
-
You can purchase this at the outset; alternatively contact us online or speak to an adviser to add it to your policy.
-
What payment options do you offer?
-
We offer payment by credit or debit card; direct debit is not available for this policy.
