Thieves target caravans in Morpeth

Thieves have struck at a caravan retail outlet in the North East, police have said.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after the overnight raid on tourers at Clifton Ideal Caravans in Morpeth earlier this month.

The incident took place between 6pm on January 16 and 8am on January 17.

Northumbria Police believe the criminals could have knowledge of caravanning as many of the stolen items were only suitable for caravan use.

The thieves made off with half a dozen hitch tow bars; a mattress; two water pumps; and a heater - but holiday homeowners are reminded that caravan insurance can help guard against incidents such as this.
