FAQ
Here are some of the questions we are often asked about leisure
home insurance. If you can't find the answer to your question,
please call us 0800 496 1516 and talk to our
ever-helpful, expert team.
Will my Static Caravan or Leisure home be insured for storm
damage?
Yes, our policies provide cover against a wide range of perils
including storm.
What am I likely to receive if my Static Caravan or Leisure
home is damaged beyond repair?
The claims settlement will depend on the type of cover you have
chosen which will shown on your schedule. If you have chosen new
for old cover we will replace your property with its brand new
equivalent and pay any associated costs for site clearance,
delivery and re-siting, provided your sum insured is sufficient. We
will also pay the cost of replacing your contents as new, again
provided you have insured for a sufficient amount. If you have
chosen market value cover you will receive a pay out for the
current market value with a deduction for depreciation and wear and
tear.
How will I know how much to insure my Static Caravan for?
If you have chosen New for Old cover you will need to insure for
the cost of a brand new equivalent and site clearance and re-siting
Speak to your site owner or manager. He or she will be able to tell
you how much an equivalent unit would cost new and how much the
additional costs would be for site clearance, delivery and
re-siting. These can vary from one park to the next and may even be
influenced by the position of your leisure home – for example if
your unit is in a site where specialist lifting equipment would be
needed. You should also allow for any decking, verandas or
conservatories should you wish to insure them.
Will my Static Caravan or Leisure home still be covered when I
am not there?
If the home is unoccupied for more than 72 consecutive hours
there are specific exclusions that will apply. These include the
exclusion of cover for loss of metered water or heating oil and
theft unless involving forcible and violent entry to or exit from
the home. Full details of exclusions applicable can be found in the
policy wording.
How much will I have to pay as an excess if I have to
claim?
Nothing at all for the majority of claims. There is, however, a
£500 excess for subsidence damage.
