FAQ – Leisure Home Insurance
Here are some of the questions we are often asked about leisure
home insurance. If you can't find the answer to your question,
please call us 0800 496 1516 and talk to our
ever-helpful, expert team.
Will my leisure home be insured for storm damage?
Yes, our policies provide cover against a wide range of perils
including storm.
What am I likely to receive if my leisure home is damaged
beyond repair?
We will replace your property with its brand new equivalent and
pay any associated costs for site clearance, delivery and
re-siting, provided your sum insured is sufficient. We will also
pay the cost of replacing your contents as new, again provided you
have insured for a sufficient amount.
How will I know how much to insure my leisure home for?
Speak to your site owner or manager. He or she will be able to
tell you how much an equivalent unit would cost new and how much
the additional costs would be for site clearance, delivery and
re-siting. These can vary from one park to the next and may even be
influenced by the position of your leisure home – for example if
your unit is in a site where specialist lifting equipment would be
needed.
Will my leisure home still be covered when I am not there?
So long as you are not away for more than 30 days, your property
and contents will be insured in the same way as when you are living
in it. If you are away for more than 30 days, some events will not
be insured, e.g. frost damage to plumbing and/or escape of
water.
How much will I have to pay as an excess if I have to
claim?
Nothing at all for the majority of claims. There is, however, a
£500 excess for subsidence damage. If you have extended the
accidental damage cover there is a £25 excess for any claims under
the extended cover. Similarly, if you have bought extra cover for
personal possessions away from your home and not specified an item,
you will be asked to pay the first £15 of your claim.
