Costa del Sol 'attractive location'
The Costa del Sol region in Spain is attracting an
increasing number of international property investors this year,
thanks to a decline in asking prices.
The region's property sector recorded a fall of up to 30% in
asking prices, making it popular among British, Russian and
Scandinavian buyers.
Ignacio Osle, sales director of Taylor Wimpey Espana, explained:
"2011 has started well. In this first quarter enquiries made by
foreign buyers at our office in Benahavis on the Costa del Sol have
gone up by 43%, certainly an encouraging sign."
Located in the south of the country, Costa del Sol is famous for
its sunny weather. This has also led to the creation of a variety
of leisure and culture facilities in the region, boosting its
tourism sector.
Spain continues to be a popular holiday destination, with
travellers from across the world heading to the country.
During the first three months of 2011, the country received nine
million international tourists, a rise of 2.9% when compared with
the January-March period last year, according to statistics
released by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
