FAQ - Military Car Insurance
Here are some of the questions we are often asked about our
Military Car
Insurance. If you can't find the answer to your question here
please contact us and a member of our team will be glad to
help.
British Forces Germany - ONLY
Q: Will you issue me with a Green Card?
A: No. We will issue a Pan European Certificate of Motor
Insurance - The policy automatically covers European Union
countries (and those that have made special arrangements e.g.
Switzerland etc). Turkey is not yet a member but can be covered as
an extension to the policy and a Green Card will be issued.
Q:I am being posted to SHAPE will the policy cover me?
A:Yes. Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (located in
Brussels) is covered by the scheme. However, a Green Card is still
required.
Q:I require business use to travel too and from work and other
military establishment, will this cost more?
A:Business Use is provided free of charge on all occasions as
the policyholder may be required to visit another military
establishment for training purposes
Q: I need to register my vehicle with the BGF licensing office;
will your documentation contain what is required for this
process?
A: We issue BFG Vehicle Licensing Office Compliant documentation
for this purpose.
UK Forces - ONLY
Q: I require business use to travel too and from work and other
military establishment, will this cost more?
A: Business Use is provided free of charge on all occasions as
the policyholder may be required to visit another military
establishment for training purposes
Q: What ages do you cover for military insurance?
A: Our policies are Available for serving personnel aged 21
and over
Q: I am being posted aboard and leaving my vehicle in the UK,
but it wont be used for 6 months do I need to let you know?
A: If your vehicle is not being used then you have the option to
reduce the cover from Fully Comprehensive insurance to Laid up
cover for the time you are away, on your return you can then
reinstate full cover for this vehicle and upon renewal of your
policy the reduction in premium would apply for the time your
vehicle was laid up during the previous insurance period.
Q: I am being posted to Northern Ireland can my cover be
extended to this area? A:Yes, you would need to call us and inform
us when you will be posted and your new contact details for your
full protection.
US Forces - ONLY
Q: I have imported my US vehicle can you provide insurance for
these types of vehicles?
A: Yes we can provide insurance cover for Imported Left Hand
Drive Vehicles.
Q: Can you insure my vehicle on a chassis number so that I can
register my vehicle in the UK?
A: Yes we can cover vehicles on a chassis number for 14 days

Q: I have an international Licence can you insure me?
A: Yes we can insure UK, EU and International Licence
Holders.
