How to Claim - Service (non-public) Funds Insurance
Unlike many other insurers, Towergate Wilsons maintains an
experienced internal claims team that understands the realities of
service life and the complexities of Service (non –public) Funds
Insurance. If you are thinking of making a claim, we would always
recommend that you first re-read the Policy Wording and review
your schedule in order to confirm that you are covered. You can
then contact us on our direct claims line on 0116 240
7778.
Once we have taken some initial details and set the claim up on
the system, you will then be sent a claim form to be completed and
returned to us. It is important that you include as much detailed
information as you can about the circumstances surrounding the
claim. This will help us deal with your claim quickly and fairly.
You should also read the section headed Notification and Conduct of
Claims in the policy wording. Please do not hesitate to call the
claims team for advice – we are here to help you through the
process as much as we can.
Information Requirements
- Reasonable precautions - You are obliged to
exercise reasonable precautions to prevent losses occurring
- Claims procedures - Formal procedures are in
force to administer claims correctly. These include requirements
that you:
- Immediately notify us of losses that might
give rise to claims
- Notify police of theft or malicious
damage
- Provide documentation in support of your
loss
- Do not admit or repudiate liability or make payments to third
parties
It is particularly important that these procedures are adhered
to strictly with regard to Service Funds as claims will
occasionally run over the period of handover/takeover between fund
administrators.
