A black box scheme that helps improve the safety of your fleet with the benefit of savings on fuel consumption and premiums that reflect your lower risk.

Fleetcare+ is our telematics insurance solution that uses technology to highlight the risks within your fleet, which can then be attacked with a targeted risk management strategy. Fleetcare+ requires you to have a approved telematics system from one of our recommended telematics providers installed in at least 50% of your fleet.

Telematics fleet insurance features

  • 2 year contract- provides stability in the currently volatile insurance climate

  • Risk Management Support - We employ Claims Liaison Managers (CLMs) who are specialists in risk management strategies and experienced in claims handling. Our CLMs will work with you to analyse your telematics data to highlight areas of high risk and pull together a targeted risk management strategy. Our CLMs will work alongside you with the aim to meet your claims performance targets in order to reduce your second year premium.

  • 2 year claims performance based deal - depending on your first year claims performance you could gain significant second year premium savings.

  • Enhanced profit share - the better your claims performance the bigger your rebate.

  • 2 year capped premium increases - unfortunately sometimes the unavoidable big claim occurs, Fleetcare+ protects you from otherwise destructive premium increases.

  • Extended 12 month new vehicle indemnity - if you write off your vehicle when it is up to 12 months old, we'll replace it with a brand new one.

Telematics fleet insurance FAQs

  • We have a telematics system fitted to our vehicles, can we join the scheme?

  • The system needs to be one from our recommended partners who have been chosen for their system capabilities and high levels of customer service. Your system will need to provide driver behaviour data so that targeted risk management strategies can be produced.

  • We don't have the telematics systems on our vehicles but would like to join the scheme, what do we have to do?

  • You need to install an approved system into 50% of your fleet within 3 months of the start date of your Fleetcare+ policy

  • Do we need driver ID installed?

  • It's not necessary, as long as you can allocate a single driver to a particular vehicle. Although it is highly recommended.

  • How will the risk management reports be accessed by Towergate?

  • In the contract policyholders must agree to allow both Towergate and the Insurer to view the relevant risk management telematics data.

  • What is a 'Claims Liaison Manager'?

  • As part of Towergate's service, we will provide you with your own dedicated Claims Liaison Manager (CLM). They will help you manage risk, analysing claims experience and telematics data, and implementing appropriate risk management programmes.

  • How often will the 'Claims Liaison Manager' meet with us?

  • Your CLM will make contact with you twice a year as a minimum requirement.

  • What risk management tools can Towergate offer?

    • Driver training - to compliment a driver training programme by measuring risk and hazard awareness of your drivers to highlight which drivers need further training. League tables can also be created to help motivate your drivers.

    • Accident recording cameras - your indisputable witness in the case of an accident

    • Driver profiling - to help ascertain which drivers are performing best and which drivers need further training. League tables can also be created to help motivate your drivers.

    • Health and safety consultancy - to identify and counteract risks to your business as well as assuring you are up to date on the latest health and safety legislation affecting your business.

    • Fleet management consultancy - to review and suggest ways to get maximum efficiency out of your fleet and control running costs.

Many other risk management tools are available.

Telematics fleet insurance claims promise

At Towergate we believe in being proactive when it comes to your claims management, getting your insurer involved as soon as possible to reduce the time it takes until settlement, ensuring you are back on the road as quickly as possible and keeping claims costs down. In fact, the first two days following an incident are critical in the handling of your claim.

Your telematics insurance claim

It is important to report all incidents to your insurers, including cases where there is little or no damage to your vehicle. This will help your insurance company to defend you against claims made by a third party. While all incidents should be reported directly to your insurer, our in house team are always on hand should you need additional support or if you have concerns about the claims process.

To report an incident at any time, day or night, please call your insurer directly using the telephone number shown on your claims card. Your claims card should be kept in your vehicle at all times so you are able to report incidents as quickly as possible.

Your insurer will correspond with you directly with the progress of your claim and they will keep us updated at all times.
