Good Care Week update

Back in March we were preparing for Good Care Week (22nd April), a UK-wide annual awareness campaign which sees local initiatives come together to create a national presence to celebrate and promote excellence in social care. We got involved and here we report back on the success of the week.

Good Care Week took place during the week commencing 22nd April 2013. Towergate Insurance, Caring Professions Division, got involved by visiting two of their clients, Rhymecare and Woking Homes.

Richard Barnes, Daniel Cramer and Natalie Panther from Towergate joined the residents at Woking Homes for afternoon tea. The residents had a great time listening to their favourite songs being played by the local pianist and, as you can see from the pictures, enjoyed the cakes provided by Towergate.

"With the negative press attention our industry is facing we felt it was important to support our clients in the work they do. Towergate staff got a great deal of satisfaction from working with service users and our clients were grateful for the support provided." Richard Barnes, Account Executive - Towergate Insurance, Caring Professions Division

Richard Barnes and Carolyn Baker-Mellor visited Rhymecare the following day and took part in the weekly quiz! It was the residents versus Richard Barnes, obviously the residents won! The residents of Rhymecare make use of their outdoor space so Towergate Insurance donated a shrub to add to their garden. Since Good Care Week, Rhymecare has registered into the "Towergate in Bloom" garden competition.

Good Care Week is a UK-wide annual awareness campaign which sees local initiatives come together to create a national presence with which to celebrate and promote excellence in social care. Towergate Insurance, Caring Professions Division, will be getting involved again next year, so watch this space!
