Features of Non-Standard Construction Insurance

Standard cover

Property owners' liability cover

We can provide property owner's liability insurance to cover you in instances where a third party has been injured or had their property damaged in circumstances related to your property. This cover applies to your legal defence and awards you are required to pay to the claimant.

Variety of non-standard properties covered

We include eco homes, wattle and daub, timber frame houses, steel frame houses, shingle roofs and more.

Alternative accommodation cover

If your home becomes uninhabitable, you’ll have cover in place towards the cost of staying somewhere else, subject to the claim for the damage being covered under the policy.

Additional cover

Home emergency assistance

Choose to add home emergency assistance and you’ll benefit from a 24-hour helpline for sudden, unexpected events. A team will then assist you in making your home safe and secure once more and restore electricity, gas or your water supply if required. There is no excess to pay for this service and it will not affect your no claims bonus.

Legal protection for non-standard constructions

We can add on the option for legal cover to cover you for legal costs up to £50,000.

I have an annexe at my property – is this something you can cover?

Answer

Yes, we can include cover for this in your policy. We can also cover the annexe whilst you may let it out. We know you might use your property for multiple purposes and our policies can accommodate for this.

Can you cover my mobile home?

Answer

Yes, this policy is supported by our specialist mobile home team. The policy is specifically designed for mobile homes and park homes which have slightly different requirements than even our non-standard properties. My home is unoccupied, can I still get cover?

Answer

You may be able to insure an unoccupied home on our unoccupied home policy. Unoccupied properties need slightly different cover so it’s important to make sure you get the correct policy for your circumstances.

Can I pay in instalments?

Answer

If you would prefer to spread the cost of your policy you have the option of setting up a Direct Debit to pay your premium in equal monthly instalments through our preferred provider, Premium Credit Limited (PCL).
