We all need a little help from time to time. The list below isn't exhaustive, but may point you in the right direction for charitable organisations and resources to help you face life's challenges. 

 

Family, Parenting and Relationships

This national family support charity provides emotional support, information, advice and guidance on any aspect of parenting and family life.

Addiction and Substance Misuse

 

Drinkline - 0300 123 1110 (freephone, 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 11am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday). 

This is a free, confidential national helpline for people who are concerned about their own or someone else's drinking. 

Drink Aware - 0300 123 1110 (freephone, 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 11am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday). 

An independent charity working to reduce alcohol misuse and harm in the UK. The website includes free drink trackers and tools to assess your own drinking levels.

Narcotics Anonymous - 0300 999 1212 (10am - midnight 7 days a week)

Narcotics Anonymous UK offer self-help groups for those with drugs and substance use issues.

Gamblers Anonymous UK - 0330 094 0322

Gamblers Anonymous run self-help groups for anyone affected by addictive gambling behaviours. 

 

Eating Disorders

 

Eating Disorder Hope 

Anorexia and Bulimia Care provide ongoing care, emotional support and guidance for anyone affected by eating disorders.

Abuse

 

Refuge - 0808 2000 247 (Freephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

Refuge provide support and information about domestic abuse, and run a 24/7 helpline in partnership with Women's Aid along with safe houses.
