Is accidental damage included?

Yes, if items you own or are responsible for are accidentally lost or damaged they are covered.

Am I covered if I am posted out of the UK?

The cover under all sections of the military home insurance product is worldwide, except home contents where cover is restricted to the address shown. If you move within the UK or abroad please let us know your new address in advance to ensure that full transit cover is given.

Does my excess increase if the claim is as a result of transit damage or because items were stolen from my car?

No, unlike other insurers we do not have "hidden" excesses as this would penalise you when you are most at risk.

Is there a limit to the amount paid if items are stolen from my car?

No, but if you leave items unattended in your car they must be locked out of sight, either in the boot or glove compartment.

Park Home Insurance (Renewal)


As I put in a claim because of damage caused by blocked drains which, in turn resulted in a flood of sewage and also of clean water, I fully expected an assessor to call, view and to offer alternative accommodation whilst the problem was resolved.

This did not happen and although Towergate has agreed to pay the sum quoted for replacement of the damaged items I have had to live in chaos for over one month and with a further period of another month before the situation returns to normal.

Boat Insurance (New Policy Holder)


It is unbelievable that despite a letter from Towergate on 19 November 2014 providing details of a change in management of my policy and clearly stating that "there is no impact on your existing policy and nothing else will change" and further that "we will contact you in advance of your next renewal" i was not contacted at all in advance of my renewal in mid-May 2015.

Towergate let my policy laps with no further correspondence and when I chased them I was treated as a new customer, so clearly again not as the letter from Towergate stated "as a Towergate customer, your business is as important to us as it is to you"

How can Towergate get basic policy renewal and customer service so wrong?

i wonder how many other Towergate customers have been left uninsured?

The only glimmer of hope, when i did eventually get to speak to someone he was sensible, pragmatic and helpful.
