Standard cover

Hospice liability insurance

Protection against claims made against you for negligence and to cover the costs of litigation. Protecting you and your Nurses and other medical staff against medical malpractice claims made against you including events in the past (the oldest date for any past incidents/claims will be when an equivalent cover was first incepted, as long as it has been maintained fully since).This section of the policy is on a claims made basis.

Dedicated account management

Our policy puts a hospice's fundamental objectives and specialist requirements at the core. In order to provide you with a bespoke quote that meets your needs, our experienced team of business development executives are available to visit your hospice. To maintain this bespoke service, we provide annual and half year face to face reviews if required.

Online risk support

Towergate works with Health and Safety Click Ltd to help your hospice to comply with health and safety and HR obligations. This service provides information, downloadable policies, procedures and documentation, as well as relevant news. It also features an e-learning tool which includes 11 RoSPA, CPD and NVQ accredited courses.*

If you have registered volunteers working at your hospice, we can include cover for them, just as we would for any employees.

Are fundraising events at my hospice covered?

Answer

Yes, the majority would be covered without referral, however, our fundraising guide provides details of what types of event require referral to Towergate.

Question

What is considered our event or a third-party event?

Answer

It is your event if your staff or registered volunteers are organising it and carrying out the risk assessment. A third-party event can be covered on a contingency basis and it is subject to the third party having a Public Liability policy with a minimum limit of £5m.
