We understand that there’s a little more to home insurance if you also welcome foster children into your home. Here’s how we can help:
We've worked with a number of individual foster carers and associations to create a policy specifically for foster families, offering cover for the bespoke needs that come with providing a home for foster children. We always try to understand the challenges you face and provide solutions with the protection you need so give the team a call to talk things through.
With everything else going on in your home we understand that keys can easily disappear. That’s why if your keys are lost, or stolen, we can cover you to have replacement locks fitted so you have the peace of mind of knowing your home is secure again. An excess will apply for this cover which varies depending on your policy so please check your documents or check with one of the team so you’re aware.
Regardless of their background or whether they have a criminal record, our foster home insurance can cover children you are fostering to stay in your home. Hopefully you’ll never need it but we provide extra cover for theft or attempted theft, malicious damage and vandalism caused by a foster child in your care. All we ask is that you let us know if you have more than four foster children staying with you at any one time. We’re just a phone call away.
Contents cover may be a standard feature on many home insurance policies but it may not cover your foster children’s possessions. We can cover this and as an optional extra, we can include cover for contents you may use away from the home like bikes and scooters. Higher value items like jewellery and watches along with electrical equipment like mobile phones and laptops, may be excluded from standard cover. All you need to do is talk us through these items and we’ll try to add it to the policy for you. Please be aware that items will not be covered for wear and tear or mechanical breakdown.
These are just some of the key features and exclusions, full details will be found in your policy wording. Show policy documents

Yes. Having worked with a number of individual foster carers and associations, we have devised a policy specifically for you, offering cover for the bespoke needs and requirements that you have. We understand the challenges faced by foster carers and provide a flexible solution for the protection you need.
We can provide you with a quote on the phone, at a time convenient for you. You can contact us on 0330 123 5304, Monday-Friday between 9am and 5pm. Alternatively, you can fill in your details by clicking the get a quote button at the bottom of this page, and we will get back to you.
Yes. Our policy covers you against any malicious damage, vandalism, theft or attempted theft of any foster child in your care.
No. Again, we don't require you to tell us when you accept a new placement, regardless of the child's background or situation. Our cover extends to all foster children in your care throughout the duration of the policy.
For your buildings, you need to take into consideration not only the cost of rebuilding the main property but also any outbuildings, swimming pools, boundary walls, etc. The value should include solicitors' and surveyors' fees and demolition costs. With your contents you need to consider all household goods and personal property and how much you would have to pay to replace them as new.
We can usually provide immediate cover once you have received and agreed to your quote. We will always try to cater to your circumstance, so just let us know if this is the case.
You are entitled to a full refund of the premium paid if you find the policy unsuitable for your needs and cancel it within 14 days of receipt of your policy documents (as long as no claims have been made.)
If you need to cancel cover after that time, cancellation charges will apply. Please call us or notify us in writing with the reason for cancellation and state the date from which you need the cover to cease. Remember, if your policy is in more than one name, all policyholders will need to sign the letter. If you have any more queries, please do not hesitate to contact our specialist foster home customer services team on 0330 123 5304.
