As a charitable organisation, fundraising is core to your business operations and survival. As part of this policy, many of these events will be protected, free of charge, leaving you to worry about the organising and not the insurance.

We also offer one off cover for any event that isn’t already covered and importantly this can include cover for cancellation which is designed to protect any up-front investment made in organising the event.

Paying by direct debit is an affordable and convenient way to pay for your policy. Through our preferred provider, Premium Credit Limited (PCL)*, you have the option of setting up a Direct Debit to pay your premium in equal monthly instalments.

Hospice Insurance Exclusions

Key exclusions

  • War and nuclear risks
  • General wear and tear
  • Pollution, contamination or other gradually operating causes
  • Escape of water or malicious damage to unoccupied or disused buildings
  • Faulty workmanship or defective design
  • Mechanical or electrical fault or breakdown
  • Pressure waves
  • Terrorism – unless terrorism section has been added

Hospice Insurance FAQs

Do I need separate insurance for a fundraising event I'm organising?

Most fundraising events are automatically covered by this insurance, whilst for others we may need additional information. When you begin planning your event, give us a call on 01438 739 787 and we can usually give you immediate advice on what we would need to provide you with cover.

Are volunteers covered?

Yes, our definition of an Employee includes both paid and volunteer members of staff hence full cover is extended in respect to Employer's Liability cover.

Do I need to extend my policy to cover the changes in the Corporate Manslaughter Act?

No, you do not need to extend your policy. Corporate Manslaughter has been included within our policy since the Act came into force in 2008.

It's easy to make a claim with Towergate. Our highly experienced in-house claims team will support you throughout.

What to do if you need to make a claim

Contact us as soon as possible for immediate advice. Our dedicated claims team are experienced in dealing with claims in the care industry and will advise you on the correct course of action.

We have delegated authority for under £5000. This means claims can be quickly handled and we even offer a fast track process for smaller claims meaning the whole process is as simple as possible for you.

Claims forms can be downloaded directly from our website. This will start your claims process and be delivered immediately via email. Get estimates for your repairs and return these to us at the same time. We will then authorise repairs or pay you the value of your claim.
