Winter sports insurance available as a stand–alone policy or as part of a travel policy:
Skiing might not be the only sport on the cards for your winter holiday so there is cover available for as many activities as possible. If you fancy yourself a bit of an adventurer there's cover for mountain walking and mountaineering (up to 1000m). Alternatively, for an additional premium, you can choose options for snowboarding, tobogganing, ice skating, snowmobiling and even husky dog sledding if you’re looking for a real arctic adventure.
Sometimes, there’s too much snow and sometimes there’s none at all! For when nature gets it all wrong, piste closure cover offers you up to £200 (per insured person) towards transport/accommodation if you can’t reach/leave your pre-booked resort. Also, you’ll receive £20 per day (per insured person) from 1st January - 30th April for each full day you can’t ski due to lack of snow or skiing facilities being closed. Please remember we do not provide compensation if you ski in Bulgaria.
Benefit from an Emergency Assistance Facilities service, open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, 365 days a year to offer you advice in an emergency situation. In case of a serious emergency, first call an ambulance using the local equivalent of 999 and once everyone’s safe, call our medical assistance service. We can help with the following: illness or injury, how to pay for your treatment, what to do if you miss a flight due to illness or if an incident causes you to want to come home early. Please keep all hospital bills in the event you need to provide them as evidence for your claim. The policy does not cover compensation if your trip is to Bulgaria.
Personal liability insurance covers compensation claims made against you if you’re held responsible for causing injury to a person, or damage to property. While most policies will include personal liability cover as standard (this one does this too),you might find a little more included on this policy compared to others on the market. Choose from up to £1,000,000 on your Standard policy or £2,000,000 on your Premier policy, for each insured-person. Don't forget, this cover does not apply whilst you are in control of a motor vehicle.
These are just some of the key features and exclusions, full details will be found in your policy wording. Show policy documents
This policy is administered by Travel Insurance Facilities (TIF) and Union Reiseversicherung AG (URV). TIF have a specialist travel claims team, so it's the friendly team at TIF you'll speak to if you need to make a claim.
They’ll talk you through the details of your claim and advise you of the next steps in the process. If you’re claiming for any stolen property, make sure you have reported your loss to the Police and have obtained a written report and reference number - this will help with your claim.
We would also recommend you share your policy details with your next of kin, just in case they need to act on your behalf should you fall ill and you’re unable to make any contact with our claims team.
