Port La Chaîne Camping
Location: 48.859148, -3.132721
If you’re driving in off the Plymouth ferry this is the campsite for you. Just a short drive along the coast from the ferry terminal, Port La Chaîne is tucked away amongst the Breton Fjords of the Channel Crossing. The campsite itself has both indoor and outdoor pools, Wi-Fi and all facilities and amenities you would expect, although one look at the natural surroundings and we’re certain you’ll barely be at the park itself!
Camping La Pointe
Location: 48.187658, -4.084907
From the campsite it is a short trip along the river Aulne to discover the quaint Breton town as it unfolds along the banks. From here you can explore the beaches and coves of the Crozon Peninsula, or just enjoy the views and pace from a café. Camping La Pointe is certainly enough on its own though, children are able to help feed the chickens, or take bikes to explore the local woodland.
Domaine Du Roc
Location: 47.864397, -2.445918
We love this campsite for many, many reasons but most of all because of the amazing range of vintage caravans they have to rent out! On top of this, they also offer tree top cabins and quirky lodges and activities such as jungle adventure, canoes, bikes and orientation training. All of this and just a short drive from the medieval village of Malestroit. What more could you want?
Camping De Martiniere
Location: 45.326014, 5.797154
Even if Camping De Martiniere was a patch of grass and a tap this could still be one of the best campsites in the world. The French Alps stretch off in all directions offering stunning views and easy access “everywhere you look”. In actual fact the park is situated on the grounds of an old Carthusian farm and has been developed to remain in harmony with the surroundings.
Camping La Serignan Plage
Location: 43.264252, 3.320124
With everything you would expect from a luxury beachside campsite in the south of France, La Serignan Plage offers even more, being in close proximity to the Narbonnaise national park and only a short drive from the boarder of Spain for those planning on heading further south. We especially like ‘The Balnéo’, an on-site ‘water wellness park’, including massage pools and music pools!
Location: 43.692903, 7.156470
In the heart of the French Riviera, and nestled on the valley side, just outside Nice, Green park is a modern caravan and holiday park with all the features you’d expect from the stylish Côte d'Azur. Enjoy the access to ‘old world France’, castle Antibes and the medieval towns but in the same trip, live it up in Nice or Monaco. Best of both worlds.
La Forge de Ste Marie
Location: 48.429785, 5.272478
In the heart of the Champagne region, La Forge De Saint Marie is a beautiful collection of camping pitches and French gites. Expect all the usual facilities and entertainment but ‘when in Rome’, don’t miss out on the fantastic wine and cheese afternoons put on by the park. There’s even a fishing lake on site too while the children are at the Kid’s Club.
Camping La Bien Assise
Location: 50.876561, 1.856754
A mere 30 minutes drive from Calais, Camping La Bien Assise is the perfect place to pull over after your crossing and spend a few days acclimatising before carrying on your journey. For this reason alone we felt it right to include this park in our list of top caravan parks but in actual fact the park’s surroundings are a great place to explore anyway! Located a short drive from the traditional villages of Guînes, St Joseph Village and the port town of Boulogne-sur-Mer you’ll be occupied for days.
Camping La Gentilhommiere
Location: 50.462962, 3.344631
Camping La Gentilhommiere is hidden in the middle of Scarpe Escaut National Park, with all the natural beauty and opportunities that come with this location, but still only 20 miles from Lille itself! The park owners can also organise trips to the local thermal baths too!
