Physiotherapist Insurance FAQs

Question

Is there a restriction on the age of clients I can work with?

Answer

No, there is no restriction on the age of your clients. Full cover will be provided for the activities you are insured for regardless of the age of the clients you are providing a service to.

Question

I sell product to some of my clients following our sessions, is this covered?

Answer

Yes, we understand that you will often sell products to your clients and so, as standard, we insure up to 10% of your annual turnover for product sales. If more than 10% of your turnover relates to product sales, please let us know as we will need to refer this to our insurer on your behalf for agreement.

Question

I do more than one therapeutic activity, can I get cover for this too?

Answer

The short answer is yes. We have an extensive list of over 100 activities that we can cover as standard under our professional liability policy. Just let us know all the activities that you undertake and we will let you know if there are any that we cannot cover, or need to be referred.

Question

How long do I need to keep records for to be compliant with GDPR?

Answer

We are not imposing any stipulation in our terms regarding record keeping, so we would always recommend you check if there are any specific requirements from regulatory bodies in your field. In the event of a claim being made, the Statute of Limitations would apply, but all our professional liability customers have access to a free legal helpline which would provide some guidance in this respect.

Question

Do I still need insurance after I stop practising?

Answer

You may want to consider run-off cover to provisionally cover you against claims made against you for work done while you were practising. Our advisors will be able to set this up for you at the end of your policy.

Question

Are there any exclusions?

Answer

We have provided a summary of the key features of the policy, above. For details of the terms and conditions applicable, please refer to your insurance product information document and policy wording, which are available during the quotation process.
