Features of Home Insurance with previous claims

Standard cover

Home contents cover

This policy provides contents cover up to £100,000. You must lock all of your doors and windows when you leave the home for this cover to remain valid.

Alternative accommodation cover

If your home becomes uninhabitable, you’ll have cover in place towards the cost of staying somewhere else (subject to the claim for the damage being covered under the policy).

Extra seasonal cover for home insurance with previous claims

In December we will increase your cover by 10% to cover you for Christmas presents. In addition, if you are getting married, we will increase your cover by 10% for the month prior to and the month following your wedding day.

Liability cover

We can provide property owners', occupiers' and personal liability cover.

Additional cover

Homecare emergency assistance

Choose to add home care emergency assistance and you’ll benefit from a 24-hour helpline for sudden, unexpected events. A team will then assist you in making your home safe and secure once more and restore electricity, gas or your water supply if required. There is no excess to pay for this service and it will not affect your no claims bonus.

What do I do if I need to cancel my cover?

Answer

You are entitled to a full refund of the premium paid if you find the policy unsuitable for your needs and cancel it within 14 days of receipt of your policy documents (as long as no claims have been made).

If you cancel after this period, the refund will differ and a fee will be charged.

If you need to cancel your cover you will be charge relevant administration costs for setting up the policy.

Please call us or notify us in writing with the reason for cancellation and state the date from which you need cover to cease. Remember, if your policy is in more than one name, all policyholders will need to sign the letter. If you have any other queries, please don't hesitate to contact the customer services team on 0344 892 1750.

Yes. We can provide cover for both of these situations.

Do I have to keep my property maintained?

Answer

If you have a flat roof, a professional builder or roofer will need to visit your property every 8 years to inspect it and any necessary repairs should be carried out.

Would I still be covered for theft under this policy?

Yes. As long as there is forcible entrance into or exit out of your property, you will be covered.
