The hot weather can pose increased risk to commercial vehicles, including tyre damage and worn batteries. If you need to make a claim on your vehicle this summer, it pays to be prepared and know exactly what you need to do from your end to make the claim run smoothly. We’ll help take care of the rest.

Before the claim

It helps to gather all the information you need before making your claim, so your broker/insurer has all the details from the outset. This includes:

Your policy and vehicle registration number
Details of third parties, if involved
Details of the circumstances behind the claim, including the date and key details
Estimated value of the claim, including vehicle purchase price, replacement cost and/or extent of damage or injury
Your contact details

Making a claim

Report the damage as soon as possible – If you haven’t already, please notify us as soon as possible so we can start to process your claim and ensure a swift and fair outcome.

Gather your information – To get the ball rolling, ensure you have your policy details to hand, including your policy number. If the incident involved a third party, ensure to take their details for the insurer to communicate with.

Document everything you can – Ensure to take lots of pictures of the damage. This will assist in identifying the extent of damage for an insurance claim down the line, as memories alone aren’t always reliable.

Keep receipts – Ensure you keep receipts for everything.
