About salon insurance

We cover a range of beauty treatments

It’s amazing what people do to look beautiful. We can cover you for a range of treatments such as tanning, hair and makeup, and nail treatments. Unfortunately, however, we can’t normally cover therapies such as hydro therapy, hair transplants or any treatment involving breaking the skin or blood vessels. If you’re not sure if one of your treatments can be covered, please ask our team on 0330 162 3089.

Add to your policy as your salon grows

If you open up additional premises, take on new staff or buy new equipment, let us know and we can update your policy to accommodate your changes. It’s important not to be under insured as this can lead to claim payments being reduced which can have a negative impact on your business. So although your premium may rise as you expand, it’s worth it to make sure you are correctly covered.

Salon equipment cover

There’s a lot of kit which helps you do your job. As such, we offer equipment cover in all of our beauty salon insurance policies. In most cases, we can even let you choose your cover limit to make sure that all of your important equipment is covered.

Liability

We offer a range of liability cover

Public liability and employers’ liability should be at the core of any business insurance. We can also include products liability cover if you sell beauty products to your clients.

When you need to make a claim, we'll guide you through the process and get your claim settled as quickly as possible.

Salon insurance FAQs

We don’t put a limit on the number of employees you can cover. However, if you take on new staff after you’ve taken out your policy, please let us know, so that we can update your policy and keep you covered.

We can offer cover for this, however it’s not a standard feature of our policies, so please make sure you request it when you set up your policy. Once included, you’ll be covered for ear and nose piercing with a gun only.

Generally, our policies cover you for working at your premises only. However, on request, we can extend your policy to include home visits and working at other sites/premises.

These aspects are excluded from our nail technician insurance:

  • Any work for which you are not qualified and do not hold the relevant certificates for the treatments you carry out
  • Not adhering to the treatment liability conditions of the policy, or following the policy precautions and conditions relating to the treatments you carry out
  • Work away from your premises, other than non-manual commercial duties, collection or delivery. (Cover can be extended to cover manual work away if required.)
  • Damage to any property held in trust or your custody
  • Liability arising out of the failure of a product to perform the function for which it was intended
  • Injury to any employee (unless you have employers liability insurance)
  • Theft not involving forcible and violent entry or exit
  • Sprinkler leakage (unless specifically extended)
  • Subsidence, ground heave or landslip (unless specifically extended)

If you want to know more about our monthly payment option, please read our dedicated page on Direct Debit.

If you prefer to spread the cost of your annual premium, we offer a quick and easy direct debit scheme. When you choose to pay premiums in instalments, you will be paying under a Premium Finance plan.

We will give you full details of the finance provider, and the additional cost of finance, when we provide you with your payment plan quotation. This will include the total payable, the number of monthly instalments and the cost of each, as well as the representative APR.
