Makeup Artist Insurance FAQs

Do you cover all types of makeup application?

We cover standard makeup application, as well as semi-permanent makeup, micro-blading and eyelash extensions. The main thing we’re not able to cover currently is permanent makeup application.

Do I need to send you my relevant qualifications?

We don’t ask for copies of your qualifications in order for you to take out this policy, however it is important to note that you must be qualified to at least a level 2 in the treatments you provide in order for this policy to cover you. Therefore, while we won’t ask for copies, you do need to have a level 2 qualification to be able to claim.

I do additional beauty therapy treatments, not just makeup. Can you cover me for these?

Yes, we can cover a wide range of beauty therapy treatments. Simply let us know what treatments you provide and we can let you know if they can be covered under this policy or not. To give you an example, we cover body massage, spray tanning, nail technicians, waxing and facial care – so there’s a wide scope available.

Do you recommend a specific level of cover?

While we don’t specifically recommend a specific level of cover, we would always suggest that you purchase the highest level of cover you can reasonably afford. We can offer indemnity limits of £1m, £2m, £3m, £5m and £10m, so we can help you choose the level that you need.

Can I pay in instalments?

If you would prefer to spread the cost of your policy you have the option of setting up a direct debit to pay your premium in equal monthly instalments through our preferred provider, Premium Credit Limited (PCL).

To find out more about PCL and direct debit payments, select direct debit.

To understand more about how PCL works together with Towergate, please read our regulatory information.

Where can I find more information about monthly direct debit?

If you want to know more about our monthly payment option, please read our dedicated page on direct debit.
