Specialist insurance for maisonettes.
We pledge to act within 24 hours of receiving your maisonette buildings claim and within five days when you provide new information for an existing claim. Our approved suppliers and loss adjusters will aim to contact you within 24 hours to ensure your claim is handled with the utmost efficiency and simplicity.
If you have any questions about our maisonette buildings insurance or need to make a change to your policy, our friendly customer service team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.
You can pay for maisonette buildings insurance via monthly direct debit instalments to make the cost more manageable.
You can extend your policy to take out additional contents cover.
Maisonette buildings insurance offers cover options for contents, fixtures and fittings, alternative accommodation, home emergency cover and more.
If your maisonette becomes uninhabitable and the claim for damage is covered under the maisonette buildings insurance policy, you’ll be covered - for up to 20% of the buildings or contents sum insured – for the cost of staying elsewhere until it is repaired.
You can choose to add home care emergency assistance as additional cover on your maisonette buildings insurance, and you’ll benefit from a 24-hour helpline for sudden, unexpected events.
A team will then assist you in making your home safe and secure once more and restore electricity, gas or your water supply if required. There is no excess to pay for this service and it will not affect your no-claims bonus.
We have policies which can cater for special circumstances, such as maisonettes in flood areas, subsidence, working from home, renting your property out, unoccupied maisonettes and more. Please call our specialist team on 0344 891 1750 for more information.
In December we will increase your cover by 10% to cover you for Christmas presents. In addition, if you are getting married, we will increase your cover by 10% for the month prior to and the month following your wedding day.
When you need to make a claim, we'll guide you through the process and get your claim settled as quickly as possible.
Maisonette buildings insurance offers insurance cover for your flat. As a leaseholder you can cover your contents, extend that to include fixtures and fittings if you’re responsible for them, or you can get buildings insurance too if you own the freehold and are responsible for the building itself.
It depends what options you want to be included in your policy. Call our team on 0345 266 8542 to get started or get a quote online.
Yes, you can add cover for home emergencies to your property insurance policy:
Please talk to your Towergate adviser for details.
With a demised property (a space or property let to a tenant under a lease agreement) you’re responsible for things like your floorboards and plaster walls to ceiling, as well as fixtures and fittings, and of course your contents. Some insurance companies won’t cover demised premises, but at Towergate we do. Just talk to our team and we’ll see what you need, and what we can do.
We specialise in providing cover where other insurers can’t. If you’ve had previous insurance claims we will still consider your case, even if you’ve been rejected by other insurers.
You’ll need a specialist landlords insurance policy, as this will cover you not just for your contents or buildings but things like public liability and loss of rent, too. You can call our specialist team on 0344 891 1750.
Yes, we can cover your maisonette if you work from home. We can also offer business insurance for your home business. Give us a call and we’ll chat through your options.
Yes, we have policies which will cater for flood in some of the harder to cover areas and can often refer cases to our insurers to try and find you a policy.
Yes. If there’s an insurable incident at your maisonette – like a leak, or a fire, anything that you’re going to claim for - and the damage means you can’t live there while it’s fixed, we’ll put you up in a B&B or hotel.
There are limits to this cover, though. You’ll get accommodation paid for up to 20% of your specified rebuild cost if you have buildings insurance, or 20% of your contents value if you just have contents insurance, or whichever is greater if you have both.
You’ll be asked to supply these figures when you get your maisonette buildings and/or contents insurance, estimating what it would cost to rebuild the property from scratch, or what it would cost to replace the contents from scratch.
You can pay by credit card or monthly direct debit.
We have provided a summary of the key features of the policy, above. For details of the terms and conditions applicable, please refer to your insurance product information document and policy wording both of which are available during the quotation process.
