When you are an employer running your own organisation and taking responsibility for its success or failure, getting the right insurance cover for both your business and your workers is crucial.
Whether you are using your own plant or have hired in equipment, plant insurance provides peace of mind and protection against the risk of the plant being stolen or damaged. Remember when you lease a piece of plant, you enter into a contract with the hiring company which means you are responsible for the plant while in your control. If it suffers theft or damage, you would be legally liable to replace the plant, which you may not have the money to do.
Hired-in plant is any part of plant that you hold responsibility for have leased in for a contract, and are therefore liable for in case of theft or damage.
Hired-in charges are the annual cost of hire of a piece of plant from a leasing company. This annual hire-in charge will have an effect on the price of your premium, depending on how frequently you use the plant.
We offer standard cover against malicious damage, fire and theft for your own or hired-in plant from £15,000 to £100,000 through our panel of insurers. We can extend this limit with a tailored policy if you require a much higher limit.
